All teen programs for our Unmask! Summer Reading Program are for anyone going into grades 7-12. All programs require registration, so be sure to sign up!

MeltedWax Melted Wax Paintings
Monday, June 15, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
The unique look of melted wax is a great medium for original artwork! We will melt crayons using tea lights and long reach lighters. Grades 7-12. Click here to register.

Wednesday, June 17, 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
In the wake of the Quarter Quell, the Hunger Games have been changed forever, and Katniss ends up in District 13. Will her new alliances lead to revolution or disaster? Join us for the movie, DVD extras, and snacks. Grades 7-12. Click here to register.

Friday, June 19, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Bring one or more t-shirts to spray paint with a superhero logo or your own original design! Black or dark colored shirts are not recommended. Please wear clothing you can paint in. Grades 7-12. Click here to register.

Tuesday, June 23, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

SupeerheroCostumeDesign Superhero Costume Design
Friday, June 26, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Join us for this hands-on drawing class with professional artist Christine Thornton. We’ll analyze superhero costumes, from logos to masks to boots and then you’ll create an original design or a variation on a favorite with Christine’s help. Grades 7-12. Click here to register.

FoamDartBlaster DIY Foam Dart Blaster
Wednesday, July 1, 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.

Monday, July 6, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

Put some Pow! Zap! Bang! into your cookies! Decorate cookies using comics as your inspiration. Make each cookie a panel in your own comic, use superhero logos to make your own set of cookie Avengers, or create a cookie hero of your own. Grades 7-12. Click here to register.
BeYourOwnHer Be Your Own Hero: Learn Basic Self-Defense
Thursday, July 9, 2:00 – 3:00 p.m.
An instructor from Superstar Karate will teach you self-defense. Learn basic skills and increase your confidence in undesirable situations. Grades 7-12. Click here to register. Tuesday, July 14, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.

ACT ACT Practice Test
Wednesday, July 15, 1:00-4:30 p.m.
This free practice test simulates actual test conditions. Be on time and bring #2 pencils, an approved calculator, and a snack if you choose. Results will be returned to students shortly after test day. Presented by Kaplan Test Prep. Grades 9-12. Click here to register.

Friday, July 17, 2:00 – 3:30 p.m.
Washi tape is colorful paper tape that originated in Japan. Join us to create an art piece on canvas or bring something from home to transform with tape. Grades 7-12. Click here to register.
