Book Review: Cold Fury by T.M. Goeglein

“[I] was about to sprint up the stairs when everything stopped, all sound and motion sucked out of the basement as a pair of large, rough hands locked around my neck.”

Sara Jane has just found out that she’s been lied to her whole life. She’s been coddled and keep isolated by her family in the hopes that she’d never find out the family’s secret: they’re deeply connected to the Chicago mob.

Now, with her parents kidnapped and no one to trust, Sara Jane must tap into the cold flame of fury burning deep inside her to find out the truth and save her family.

My Review: Secret passageways, meetings with mob enforcers, insane villains, lies, betrayal, and revenge – this book’s got it all! Sara Jane’s resourcefulness, resilience, and intelligence make her a great character to read. I could so easily see Cold Fury as a TV show, with Sara Jane kicking butt and figuring out her family’s secrets on her way to rescuing them and taking down their kidnappers. Check out Cold Fury if you like action, revenge stories, or uncovering family secrets.

I’m headed off to the Anderson’s 9th Annual Young Adult Literature Conference next Saturday, where Cold Fury author T. M. Goeglein will be on the panel, so I’m happy I read the book this week. I’m super excited my absolute fave, Maggie Stiefvater, will be on the panel, too. I’ll give you an update after the conference on all the great author dirt I’ll be finding out!
