Book Review: A Bad Day for Voodoo By Jeff Strand

“Well, yeah, once Mr. Click’s leg shot across the classroom, I started to think that the universe might have gone a bit askew.”

When Adam finds out his best friend Tyler’s evil history teacher falsely accused Tyler of cheating and gave him a failing grade, he had no other choice than to buy Tyler a voodoo doll so Tyler could exact his revenge. But the doll works a little too well, and when he pokes the doll with a pin, his teacher’s leg comes off and flies across the room.

Unfortunately for Tyler, that’s not the only voodoo doll around, and soon Tyler is trying to avoid getting killed as he tracks down a voodoo doll of himself before it can be destroyed by gang members, cannibals, or a Red Bull-addicted cab driver.

My Review: A Bad Day for Voodoo was hilarious and unpredictable, with some insane characters, some well-deserved freak-outs and a few voodoo doll mishaps along the way.  This is a great book if you love snarky humor, stories with a normal guy caught in a completely crazy situation, or if you’ve ever wished voodoo were real.
