Book Review: The Lost Code: Book One of the Atlanteans by Kevin Emerson

“The key is inside you.”

On Owen’s first day at Camp Eden, he drowned. But those 10 minutes he spent under water awakened something inside him, an ancient part of his DNA that helped him survive and would lead him to his destiny.

Unfortunately, the secrets he is compelled to protect are also being sought by the camps leaders, whose shadowy agenda might bring about the end of the world. Again.

My Review: If you love secret destinies, lost civilizations, and mysterious corporations that may be trying to take over the world, this book was made for you! I love all those things, plus I’m a sucker for all things Atlantis, so I was hooked from the minute I saw Book One of the Atlanteans on the cover.

Clearly, this is the first book in a series, so even though there are some good action scenes, Owen’s transformation and discovery of his destiny takes up a big chunk of the book.  There’s a lot of background info about the postapocalyptic world he’s living in, but it’s vital to the Atlantean part of the book, so be a little patient! I have to say, I wish book two was already out because I feel like this adventure is just beginning.
