“No one brought guns here,
most of us decided.
Though a few steered
clear of Blake.
                     Just in case.”

Andy never really cared about the rest of the students at school until he heard a rumor about another loner, Blake, keeping a gun in his locker.  He’s HAS to know whether it’s true, but the truth about Blake may be more than he can handle.

My Review:  I picked up Unlocked partly because it’s told in poetry form and it’s National Poetry Month, but it turns out, this is actually a perfect book to be told in verse.  The tension built as the rumors started flying, and when Andy and Blake became friends, I couldn’t stop turning the pages.  Andy had his suspicions about Blake, and I had my own suspicions about each of them as the book went on.  Would Blake’s internal pressure make him explode? Would Andy become seduced by the idea of firing a gun? Check out Unlocked by Ryan G. Van Cleave today and see if you can predict what happens in the end….
