Here’s a taste of another new booklist, “Between Two Cultures.” These books feature teens who are bicultural, teens who discover new ways of looking at their background, and teens who are trying to adapt to a culture that’s different than their own. Check these out, then click here to see the complete list of nine titles.

The Secret Life of Maeve Lee Kwong
Maeve’s world is torn apart when her mother dies and she is sent to live with her strict Chinese grandparents. She fights to hold on to her old life, even as she secretly pins her hopes on her Irish father, who doesn’t even know she exists.
Shine, Coconut Moon
Samar, who is of Punjabi heritage but has been raised with no knowledge of her past, wants to learn about her family’s history and get in touch with the grandparents her mother shuns.
In 1863, Claire, the daughter of an Irish mother and a black father, faces ugly truths and great danger when Irish immigrants, enraged by the Civil War and a federal draft, lash out against blacks and New York City’s wealthy.
Ten Things I Hate About Me
Lebanese-Australian Jamilah, known in school as Jamie, hides her heritage by dyeing her hair blonde and wearing blue contact lenses, until her deception becomes too much to bear.
