The Secret Year – My Review

May 4, 2010 at 10:20 am Leave a comment

No one knew about Colt and Julia.  Their year-long relationship was a secret from everyone – her rich parents and entitled boyfriend, his working-class family and friends, pretty much the entire town.  No one would understand why they were together.  Sometimes Colt didn’t even understand.

But before they could figure out if there was something more real between them than just hooking up, Julia died in a car crash, and Colt had to figure out how to get over someone who was never really his in the first place.

I liked that this book was told from a guy’s point of view, and that it was about something real – how to grieve for someone even when you’re left with doubts and regrets about your relationship.  How can you move on when you’ve got so many secrets and unanswered questions?

Find out how it all ends up for Colt in The Secret Year by Jenifer R. Hubbard, now available now at the library.
