6 Weeks – 6 Books
Teen Winter Reading Program
December 6 – January 15
If you’re in grade 7-12, you can participate in our first ever teen winter reading program! Pick up a book log starting today, read six books in six weeks, return the log by January 15 and you could win your choice of two grand prizes – an Iron Man 2 book and DVD prize pack, or a Glee book and DVD prize pack. Everyone who turns in a completed book log by January 15 gets a free set of earbuds.
You don’t have to read one book every week if you don’t have time! What about your school’s winter break? Read all six then, that’s fine. You just have to read six books within those six weeks.
You can read anything you want. Whether it’s manga, nonfiction, or a huge doorstop of a book, it’s up to you. Every participant can enter only one book log, so you’re all created equal in terms of the grand prize drawing.
I will also be reading six books in six weeks, and posting my book reviews here on the blog, so look for the first review later this week.
Good luck!
Katie
Don’t forget!
There’s just one week left in out Libba Bray autographed book contest. Check out the details here and remember to submit your entry by September 15 (next Tuesday).
Are you Libba Bray’s number one fan?

Do the words “A great and terrible beauty” make you swoon? Are you the first person on hold to get “Going bovine” when it comes out next month?
If so…what would you do to get an autographed copy of one of those two books?
Lucky you, all you have to do is enter our Libba Bray autographed book contest, going on now until September 15. Tell us in 200 words or less why you love her books and you could win a book autographed by the author herself! Entries must be received by September 15. Pick up an entry form in the YA section of the library and bring your entry to the main desk, or email your entry to me. Please include your name, grade and phone number if you email me your entry.
I will take names off the entries in order for them to be anonymously judged by library staff. Two winners will be chosen; the first place winner will get first choice of book.
Good luck!
Fill out our survey for a free book!
If you participated in this year’s Summer Reading Program, be sure to stop by the library to fill out my survey. Just let me know what you liked/disliked about our prizes or programs and you’ll get your choice of free book.
I have about two dozen different advance reader copies to choose from, and yes, “advance” really means advance – most of the books don’t come out until September or October. Be sure to give me your opinion after you read them! Let me know if I should buy them for the library’s collection.
The Summer Reading surveys are now in the Y.A. Corner of the library, so fill one out today and get your free book!
Katie
